I couldn't put off the final four any more so I finally fought all the way
through and beat Steven. Now I am trying to climb the sky pillar and no
matter which bike I use I'm not having much luck getting past the 2nd level
of cracked blocks. Any suggestions?

You have to use the Mach Bike, and you have to be very good at turning
corners with it. In order to go over a crack, you need at least two
squares to get 'warmed up', so to speak, and you won't always have this
if you go over some cracks, stop, and try to go over some more. You have
to speed over the first line of cracks, and then quickly adjust (to the
left, I think), and then when you are over that set, you have to quickly
push up. Basically, you can't stop until you've reached the next door.
It's tough, and a little silly, but keep practicing and you'll get it.

And to add on that, when you get past an area of cracks, it's advisable to
save especially if it was a hard one to get accross. This way if you fail
and fall, rather than starting again, reset (Hold A+B+Start+Select) and try
again.

Well, that's my 2 cents worth for today.

That's true, but it's set up so that if you happen to fall, you'll land
on a floor that you can easily walk across to get back to the cracked
floor. The cracks are every other level, so you don't have to do it all
over again each time you fall.
