So I was playing Skyrim a couple of days ago and it was perfectly fine at that time but suddenly when I got back into it I see all these weird white blocks or squares everywhere (shown in images below) I'm not sure if its a mod related problem because I mod it A LOT or if it is my graphics cards problem (system specs below)

MOBO: Biostar A880g+
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3 RAM
GPU: ATi Radeon Sapphire 5770 1GB GDDR5
HDD: 500GB 7200RPM

the squares are called artifacts. they are caused by.
a bad overclock on the gfx.
bad drivers.
high system/gfx temps
inadequate power supply.
if your gfx is a factory oc version then turn it down to stock speeds.
if you overclocked it then turn it down back to stock.

update your drivers or if you have just done that then get a couple of older drivers and try each of em.

high temps can be combated 2 ways.
better overall system cooling or increasing the fan speed with an app like msi afterburner.

if you did all this then look at the psu... is it high enough rated on the amps as well as volts?

but my guess is that you have an unstable factory oc'd gfx card with stock drivers if thats the case you need the latest drivers and if that doesnt work then you reduce the factory oc...

Well I don't ever recall OC'ing my GPU, I never fiddled around with that stuff but I'll try that and do you know where I can go to find if I have all my drivers updated? Also, I believe the highest temp my 5770 has gone when playing a game (Skyrim) was 60 ish degrees, and it was only there for about a second or two and it dropped down to mid 50's.
