I going to build up a PC for gaming purpose. I would like to using AMD 3200 64. (AMD fans). But I no idea to select for the GC, don't what type of system is the best for the middle class GC. Buying 2 cards or save some $ to buy a upper middle class GC. So anyone can give me some suggestion.

Note:
I don't like 1st person shooting ('cause my brain can function well)

I hope the case is that he missed a 't in there..... or

With a system like that, a 7800GT should be fine... you should be able to scarf one up on ebay fairly cheaply from someone whos looking to jump into the 7900GT. That CPU would probably bottlekneck a 7900GT or X1800XT which are the best bang for the buck cards in the high end range at the moment.

In all actuality... you could probably get away with a nilla 6800 as I believe those had unlockable piplelines and vertex shaders.

Just dont go for an X1900 or 7900GTX because your cpu wouldnt be able to keep up.

No, I not insulting first person shooter fans. I really like to play 1st person shooting game (FARCRY & counterstrike), but every time when I play, I'll sick like hell. So, by the way, got any suggestion to overcome this problem? Because I really like to play 1st person shooting game.

Still having a 3200 close to a 7900GTX doesn't sound right.
And the CPU slows down in most older games.
I'd get a X850 XT to go with that CPU.

Can't go wrong with the X1800 GTO with SM 3.0 and HDR for 225 (beats the 7600GT) an can unlock to 16 pipes plus overclock to X1800 XL speeds.

Don't mean to rock your boat too hard, but I have a similar problem, which is why I don't play 1st person shooter games. My doctor said that I was subject to siezures, and that when the scenes started going fast, with lots of quick changing colors on the screen, my brain would start ot go bad, like it was shorting out or something. Then I'd start to feel get sick, with a pounding headache. Don't know if this is the reason for your problems, but its something to consider. Oh yeah, no way to really overcome it if it is seizure activity. I take medicine for it, but I still get sick if I try to play too long.

If you can get a good HSF, I know that the 3200+ overclocks very well. Some people have been able to get it 2.8GHz on standard HSF's....With a good one and *maybe* voltage changes, even 3.0GHz. Try to get the Venice Core, it is a shade faster.

I personally say naught to SLi/Crossfire with such cards as the 7 series, or 1800/1900 series. They are already fast enough, unless you play at 1600X1200 or closer with plenty of AA/AF, they are just for show. (I can already hear the fanboys coming, lol) My bet: Go with the 7900GT from a good maker (eVGA, BFG, XFX), or a X1800 GTO or wait for the X1900 GTO.

If not really into fps type games, a 7600GT or X850XT ought to do quite nicely....; certainly would not need a Crossfire or SLI rig...

(regarding feeling sick when playing, what is your refresh rate? If on a CRT, make sure you are running an 85-95 Hz refresh rate, vice the default 60 Hz that Windows usually chooses....

60 Hz cause headaches, literaly, for many folks...

Check the Hertz your monitor is running at. I find if the Hertz are to low I can get a head ache or get sick after to much game play.

To high can also have this effect so try adjusting until your eyes are confortable.

I do realize that you are not that much into FPS games, but I don't think you can go wrong with the 7900GT for only $299. I mean, many other RPG games, etc., are also graphic intensive (not nearly as much as FPS, though). If you must go lower, then I say heartily with the 7600GT or the ATI opposite. I would aslo say that you do not go with the original X-Series by ATI, such as X850XT PE, X700, X300, etc. They do not support SMP 3.0, which is already coming in a few games(more to come very soon). Thankfully, the X1xxx series clearly remedies this, and those cards are fine.

The feeling you get when you play counter strike or farcry is not strange at all and it can be compared to motion sickness or sea sickness, it is called SIMULATION SICKNESS, some people have it, others dont. it is the effect thet the flickering enviroment in the PC has on your brain and in no way means that you are abnormal. if you can take it then dont force it you will end up feeling VERY VERY sick!! but dont worry it wont kill you.

Dont be so sure.. Seizures are common with people that have such adverse effects from computer games.

So yes, it can kill you. Listen to your body. It knows best.
