Question Slow Download Speeds on Certain Services Despite High Speeds on Steam and Speed Tests

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a peculiar issue with my newly built PC and I'm hoping to get some insights or suggestions from the community. Despite achieving high download speeds on platforms like Steam and through various speed test services, I'm facing extremely slow download speeds (around 300kb/s) when downloading from certain other sources or websites. I get 20 MB/s from steam and I think some internet download was fast too, but for example the NordVPN installer download in firefox was slow as well as the setup wizard download iself. Same issue with Stellseries Engine download. I have no clue what to look for or where this inconcictency might come from. I also tried diffrent browsers. But edge had the same slow download speeds.

Speed depends not only on your system and ISP, but what the server you are downloading from will give you.

Few if any "servers" have the resources to feed you and the entire internet, at whatever max speed you think it should be.

After further investigation, I discovered that the problem was caused by my WiFi being active. Even though it wasn’t connected to any network, it seems that having the WiFi enabled was somehow interfering with my Ethernet connection.

I hope this update might help anyone who encounters a similar issue. Thanks for the suggestions !
