Hello,

Recently I've been having issues with my computer. I upgraded to i5 4690K and Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 board. The first start up was fine, it booted very fast and without issues, but as I started installing drivers, the start up got much slower.

Currently the computer hangs around the windows splash screen for couple seconds, black screens before going into the windows login window, and then after I type in my password it takes another 5 to 10 seconds to get the desktop to show up, all of this totals at around a minute which Im certain is above the norm.

Im clueless as to what might cause this, my best bet would be faulty hard drive, however I'd like to make sure first, and I have no idea how to go about doing that 😀

Any help is welcome, also ask for any info you may require, I will provide it asap.

Basic Specs:

I5 4690K, Radeon HD7950, 16GB 1600Mhz RAM, 1TB HDD 7200RPM, 650W 80+ Bronze PSU.

True. The issue was that my main hard drive was completely screwed. Currently running the system on a much slower hard drive. Will buy a replacement.

He already have the HDD, His problem is the booting. Not the storage. Lol.

Thanks for the suggestion but not really looking for an SSD.
