Question Small chip fallen off Aorus RTX 2070 Super

Hey guys, I bought a used Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2070 Super and it arrived today, but I noticed that a small chip fell off. Is it a big problem? I really don't want to buy a new graphics card.

Could be. I'd return it; looks like there was a good bit of undisclosed damage. And if it happened during shipping, consult the shipper.

I agree with Big D. You should definitely return it. Every part of a video card has a purpose and if something fell off, especially a chip, that's BAD.

As long as you have a potential return, that is a good plan.

Little capacitors like that are often simple filters or pull up caps. Not strictly necessary for 100% functionality. They are there to prevent signal noise for the most part. Can't really tell what it is doing with the backplate on though.

Given where that one is, it is also a pretty minor repair with a soldering iron. Especially since you still have it.
