Folks, I've got the mother of all system head-spinners. I'm running an MSI Z97M Graming motherboard with 2 GTX 970 Gaming 4G graphics cards in SLI. (Why? Because I wanted to see if there was any performance increase with SLI. Spoiler Alert... There wasn't. Not a single FPS.) I decided to pull the second 970 from my rig and run just the one. They were so close together anyway the fans were completely blocked. So, I pulled the second GPU and rebooted.

My screen resolution changed after restarting, but that didn't concern me. The big issue is that now my computer is running RIDICULOUSLY slow. I thought it was a GPU thing so I reinstalled the NVIDIA software. Nothing. Well... not completely nothing. In addition to a crawling computer, my mouse buttons are now backwards. I pulled up my mouse setting to see if the buttons were switched. Nope. I tried reversing them to at least give me back my regular buttons configuration, but doing that only makes my scroll-wheel button the primary! I checked my Logitech software, but it can't find any of my hardware, either my mouse or my keyboard, which are both Logi.

A third of the time when I reboot it comes back up with no internet connection, like it can't see my wireless NIC.

Another third of the time my monitory doesn't even come on.

I tried replacing the second card just to get back to baseline, but it didn't help. I'm still moving at a snails pace. I checked my resource monitor and something is running my CPU at about 35-40% but I'm not running any programs that don't normally start on bootup. My disk looks like something is hitting it hard. It looks like a heartbeat monitor.

Someone please tell me what the heck is going on! I'm at a complete loss.
