[SOLVED] I can't set the refresh rate at 144Hz .

I just bought this model: Gigabyte Aero 15-X9-7FR4410P, and I can't set the refresh rate on the Generic PnP Monitor, nor can I make Windows understand that I don't want the laptop screen to use the Intel graphics card. The only rate I can define is 60. Is it due to the way Optimus works? Am I blocked?

You may need to install the specific drivers for your (assuming) external display. If your Nvidia drivers are set up properly, the Nvidia GPU will likely kick in when gaming.
In fact, I'm talking about my integrated screen, as you can read, the computer has a 144Hz screen but I can't configure it.

Ah yes, the huge confusing mess of switchable laptop graphics.

You absolutely have to ensure you have the correct driver installed, and you may need to tinker around with custom resolution utility or pixel patcher if it comes to that, but it's a hit or miss.

Have you been in the "display adapter" properties setting window? That's where it's giving you the generic PnP monitor?

Yes, I was there, but I don't understand, I paid for this screen, how is it possible that I can't directly adjust it to 144Hz.
I have two graphics cards in my device manager, Intel UHD Graphics 630 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design.

From the specs on the Gigabyte site for your laptop, it appears that only the 1080p display supports 144Hz. I have yet to find something that indicates the 4k display is capable of that speed.

I specify that I use the GIGABYTE Control Center tool which tells me that I am up to date with Intel Graphics (25.20.100.6444) as well as NVIDIA Graphics (25.21.14.1972).

That laptop comes with 2 optional displays:

15.6" Thin Bezel LG 144Hz FHD 1920x1080 IPS anti-glare display LCD
15.6" Thin Bezel AUO UHD Adobe RGB 100% 3840x2160 IPS anti-glare display LCD

It would appear that you must have the 1920x1080 version to support 144Hz on the internal display.

I don't understand, I only have one screen in front of me, I assume you're talking about the drivers. Or can I find one of these two drivers that would allow me to get the rate?

No, that laptop can be physically configured to have one of two different displays (the hardware is different). One version is a 4k display, the other 1920x1080. It appears that only the 1920x1080 version can support 144Hz. It is not just a matter of changing your resolution and speed, or drivers.

I think I'm going to go crazy, I think the computer I bought is only available in France, and my reseller made a huge mistake.
Please, make a CTRL+F and write 144, you will see that the LDLC reseller displays that this computer has a 144Hz screen.

Obviously if I try to configure 144 Hz on a screen that does not offer it, it obviously does not work. It's incredible such a mistake by the reseller!

I believe COLGeek is correct. 144Hz should be available, but definitely not at 4K.

It is practically unheard of having a 144Hz 4K display. Even the most powerful setups wouldn't be able to run it, and that's assuming it's a discrete GPU with an external monitor using the newest HDMI or DisplayPort connection.
The technology isn't quite there yet, and even if you somehow truly do have a 4K monitor capable of a full 144Hz @ 4K, your built in graphics card was not designed to handle that threshold.

And you can't exactly pull out the 2070 in your laptop... so you won't be getting 144Hz at 4K, sorry bud. Most GPU's don't even support HDMI 2.1 yet, and I doubt there's any connection inside your laptop capable of pushing that kind of bandwidth.
