I was building my first PC but then this incompatibility note comes up, I have searched a little bit and my question is what if they don't have an update? This is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FD9LnQ
I think I will go for the cm storm enforcer, I save much more because I won't need to buy more fans and fan controllers thanks for the help, I'm quite sure that my entire setup is finished!
Oh and there's always the...
"Man if I'm spending this much more on a case...
Why not get an i5 instead of an i3?"
Yeah you need to evaluate that can of worms too haha
Well the i5 isn't all that superior than the i3
I watched a few videos and it's just a few FPS more than the i3
But if so, what would you suggest me?
maybe you can just lay everything down for me and I'll follow (switch cpu, what case, how many fans, what kind of fans, keep the case and cpu).
You are right the i5-4460 isn't too much faster. Usually only 10-15% if all 4 logical cores are at full bore (rarely ever happens). But I see you got the building bug, so I'm not going to encourage you more so that maybe your wallet won't hurt so bad. Right now I think you have a good build planned and you will be happy with it.
Yea, do you know when the PC parts are cheaper throughout the year and which retailers are the best? The price rose a lot lately, do you think between now and June, the price will be somewhat decent (around or below $600) in that time period of 2 months?
I don't mind waiting until November-January. How much do you think I will save if I buy my parts during Black Friday or something?
Unknown. I have snagged some nice things from newegg on Black Friday like PSUs, graphics cards and RAM (they fluctuate price a lot anyway). pcpartpicker has a price graph to show you price fluctuations. Looks like your build is at a good price right now.
Yea I'm Canadian xD
I should've moved to the U.S. when I had the chance... Haha
Anything around $600, and what monitor should I get? 120hz? 60hz? But my main criteria is that it has to be 27"
Thanks in advance!
Yes it's a quality 400W that will work great with the i3 and GTX 960. Those combined barely push 200W at full synthetic load. That Antec is actually a Seasonic, good stuff.
The R9 290 on the other hand is a power hog and would need beefier PSU. The GTX 960 runs cool and efficiently and is great for 1080p gameplay.
