Some keys don't work on my Mac keyboard

The return, delete, and number pad zero keys do not work on my non-wireless Mac keyboard, regardless of which user is logged in. I am trying to find out if this is more likely to be a keyboard or cpu problem before I just purchase a new keyboard. Is it possible to do so? The kids have a lot of papers to write and it's driving everyone nuts! Thanks.

On a more serious note, unless the vile Mac has some serious issues, I would be almost certain that its the keyboard.

Yeah, I figured- thanks. Nope, doesn't work, just fortunate that the three keys that don't work do have alternatives- enter, delete-x, qwerty zero. Just not the keys were trained to use when going fast.
