Something Must Be Wrong With my PC

My Build:
MSI z77a g-43
8gb Corsair Ram
500w PSU
i5 3570k
1TB HDD
CM HAF 922
Windows 8.1

I build my pc sometime around Christmas of 2013. It didn't boot for a while because I got shit RAM and got different ones a few days later. It started, worked fine like it's supposed to... and so on. About a few days after that, I started to randomly crash. Especially when re-downloading my steam games. Just a blue Windows 8 screen saying it's going to recover and restart. IDK why it crashes and for what reason. It crashes at LEAST 10 times a day. What could it be? I do not have a virus, I've already checked. My PC pro friend doesn't know it is either. He says maybe my Motherboard is damaged or something. Idk, Help anyone? Thanks.

Do you have the latest BIOS and mobo drivers (Win8 versions of drivers)?

Not sure. I haven't messed with either. How should I check?

CAn find current BIOS version in the BIOS, then compare to latest available on you mobo web site, on the mobo drivers, would just download all the latest for your OS and install all
