Sound card died, but onboard audio doesn't work....

I uninstalled my old Audigy 2 ZS because it's been acting up for awhile and it seemed to have stopped working. After I did that and restarted, my sound device was detected as "ATI HD Audio rear input" which I assume means the onboard sound. Unfortunately, I get no sound at the moment.

- I have the latest drivers for the onboard audio
- No, the sound isn't muted, and volume is up high
- I have a 5.1 system and the speakers still work (tested them on my PS3)
- Speaker settings are correctly set to 5.1 Surround Sound
- ATI HD Audio rear input is selected as my default device

Any idea what's going on? It might be related to my Audigy as well, though I don't see how...that card's been wonky for awhile now but the onboard audio just plain doesn't work.

EDIT: It appears I'm using the Legacy audio drivers, if it matters

First you need to check the bios and make sure the onboard audio is enabled.
Then you need to install the drivers for the onboard audio.
Then go to sound properties and select you onboard device as the playback device.

The ATI HD Audio device is for the HDMI output on the video card.

Make you sure that your onboard audio is set to Analog and not digital.

Ah crap, I forgot about the BIOS. Yeah I enabled the onboard audio there and downloaded the Realtek audio drivers for the EVGA board I have. Sound's working great! Well, it doesn't sound the best, but at least it works so I can hold over till my new card gets here (I'm thinking the Asus Xonar D1). Thanks guys.
