Speakers are really really quiet

I had some old speakers and they were super quiet so I figured they were bad and just grabbed some decent speakers from GoodWill. These speakers, when I plug directly into my ipod, get pretty loud, but when I plug them into my computer they are extremely quiet. I am using the sound card build into my motherboard which is a p8Z77 v-lk. On a side not my headphone jack on my rosewill hyper cooler is not working either although the one is the back works fine. Thanks ahead of time!

edit: I have updated my drivers and have the 2 speaker set up plugged into the green port all the way. Just fyi

Okay i downloaded it and turned up the max volume but they are still really quiet

Oh wait my front panel is now working! Speakers are still pretty quiet but the headphone jack on the front works after I switched from HD audio front panel to AC97 front panel. Headphone sound is great also

edit: the headphones and speakers play at the exact same time, I have to unplug the speakers to get the sound to focus on the headphones

Seems like the same stuff, uninstall or disable realtec as it will conflict. see what works for you.
