I bought this ABIT AN-M2HD off of ebay a few weeks ago under a completely different name and it showed up missing the onboard video ports. My problem is that it will neither post nor give me any beep codes, even when I put verified broken RAM in it, all fans spin though and lights turn on. I am breadboarding it. I am using a GPU.

I found the Newegg page today and noticed that it said that it only worked with Athlon II AM2 CPUs. I've been using an AM2 Phenom II in it and I'm curious if that's the entire problem. It would make sense to me that I should get get a beep code from the mobo if the wrong CPU was in there especially considering it doesn't accept all AM2. Any help would be great.

Would using the wrong CPU cause all of the POST and beep issues I'm having though do you think?

If you were using an unsupported CPU, you wouldn't hear any BIOS beeps because the system would be unable to POST, and it's the POST process which triggers the beeps.

You said yourself that it isn't POSTing so how do you expect it to issue any beep codes?

So you're almost certainly using a CPU that is not supported.
