On your budget I wouldn't get a 480 but yes it is better than the 560.

I think your build is too much about looks than actual grunt

PSU - get a 650

HDD - get 1TB or even 500GB as a storage drive and an SSD for OS and games

GPU - Get a GTX580

CPU & Mobo - Get a Z77 board and an Ivybridge CPU it wont cost much more

Case and keyboard/mouse etc - spend a bit less here to get the better hardware above

Give me 10 minutes and I will post what I would build on that large budget part by part

That would be appreciated and could you literally do everything that goes into a computer on my budget plus keyboard and mouse. Plus I would like a better CPU and GPU to run some of the higher end games.

Theres $35 you can claim back in mail in rebates there too.

I see no reason for you to buy a 480 which is now 2 generations old when your budget can allow a 580. The 480 has heat, power and noise issues, yes its a good card and cheap but why take the possible issues of it when you easily afford 1 generation newer.

If your comparing OC'ing the 580 can mildly OC without the ballache of buying and fitting extra coolers

Look we all know your rig is good and your SLi 480's with alot of aftermarket cooling kick ass but thats no reason to tell everybody to buy something that is 2 generations old and requires alot of fiddling and aftermarket cooling to get to an acceptable level. People can buy a better card than you mate you don't need to get all defensive about it.

GTX480 went out of production a long time ago yes its a good card but

It sucks ALOT of Power

Kicks out ALOT of Heat

Cooling that Heat = noise

Theres a reason they still have an old card in stock and brand new at bargain prices its replacement is better and the 480 had enough issues that it is still in stock brand new at those prices.

By your reasoning nobody needs better than a core 2 quad and a gtx 285 as they can be OC'd to run most games at decent levels

Also I see no logical reason to buy a 2500k the OP can afford its REPLACEMENT the 3570K which is BETTER
