I always see posts when I search about 6000 vs 6400 but always the same size and nearly identical CS latency's. My question is which is better 32GB 6400MHz(36-48-48-104) or 64GB 6000MHz(30-36-36-96). I also know that AMD is annoying to get it to run 6400 but those are 5-7k CPUP series questions and not the new 9k series, is it still difficult to get that 400Mhz anymore? My Motherboard supports 8000MHz(Strix X870E-E) with my 9950x. I watched JayzTwoCents most recent video on CAS latency and it matters but does it matter across MHz?
As far as my usage goes, Gaming mostly, lots of compressed file usage, current GPU(3060ti) which is outdated with this setup(will wait for next gen GPU and prices to go down). Basically typical usage as a PC.

I can't test this out atm as the person who bought me the stuff didn't get a CPU Fan so I'm stuck waiting for Amazon. I do have a 3600 CPU currently and supposedly the Fan would fit my new setup but 3600 is half the TDP so I dare not tempt fate on a $600 CPU.

For gaming you want low CL numbers, for long calculations you want high speed.

Gaming the calculations are constantly changing so the less cycles, CL, it takes to get through the data the quicker it can get to new data. Or in layman's terms, it like reading a 1000 page choose your own adventure book. The quicker you can read the first page and find out what page you need to go to next the faster you can read the book.

When doing long calculations like compressed files or cad work, the data is know and you just need the raw speed of the ram to rip through it. Long calculations is like reading a 1000 page book front to back. The faster you can read, or faster MHz, the quicker you can get through the book.

From what I have read get a kit of 6000 cl30.
Amount?......get enough to keep you away from the page file.

Ever since I got an M.2, I've never noticed any page file usage. Old ssd and hdd I could tell. I'll try to keep an eye out, I have 16Mb(2100Mhz oooh, lol) atm but I'm still using my 3600.
