Can someone please explain to me how Speedfan works ? I cant seem to wrap my feeble mind around it. Which temp do i read ? Temp one on my Phenom II 720 stays around 35c, temp 2 says 40c and temp 3 says 43c. Then i have the core temp that says 37c. But the tray icon displays the first temp of 35c. Am i totally confused or just an idiot. Be nice

I guess this one was too stupid of a question Can someone recommend an EASY to understand cpu monitoring program.

Try CPUid Hardware Monitor. It labels everything clearly.

Thank you. I will. Does it tell you the case temp. ? I dont know if that will really be a concern for me. I have pretty good case fans. But i see it listed alot in other posts.

I don't believe so. I think it just shows temps of your components.

When I run SPeedFan it labels the GPU core just as "core". You should have 3 cores (Phenom x3 720) and a GPU one, but try another program like HWMonitor or CoreTemp.

I see he three cores on speedfan. But when i run Prime95 only one core goes above 50c right now and the red arrow turns into a flame and i get scared. Do you know what the flame means and why it happens on one core?

On speedfan Idle: Temp1-35c
Temp2-29c
Temp3-43c
Core-33c
Load on prime95 for 5 min. Temp1-35c
Temp2-44c
Temp3-53c with a red flame next to it
I also saw a -28c flash on Temp1. So im not sure how to read this. Temp1 didnt change. Isnt that odd ?

Try OCCT and then list what the temps are.
