I have Splinter Cell to, and one thing that I found out is that the game HATES and Anti-Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering settings manualy changed in the Driver, make sure you just leave the Settings on Application Controled, esspecially if you are running it a high settings and resolutions. For me when ever I did this my game either crashed straight away or a bit into the game, same as with frezzing.
This probelm may be only with my PC, but i know it was a problem, so it may be something to check if you are manually changing the settings 🙂
I have virtually an identical System to yours by the way
cheers BTW It is the BEST game i've played in a long time!!!!
