So I have an ibuypower PC that I purchased back in May of this year. Haven't had any issues with it and everything has been great so far. This evening I was playing Battlefield V when the game crashed. I didn't think anything of it and simply updated the graphics driver and restarted the computer. When I restarted the computer and attempted to open up BF:V again, it froze and presented me with a "Windows has encountered an error" message. When I rebooted again, the computer showed me a message saying the boot drive was not found.
I tried all of the basic things of course.
-Reseated the connectors
-Ensured the boot order was correct.
Noticed immediately that the boot drive manager was missing after pressing F11. So I took a deep breath and decided I would reinstall Windows 10. I noticed immediately that I couldn't find the drive. I ultimately put in a desktop HDD and installed Windows. When I go into disk manager, it initialized the disk, but it's showing as blank and doesn't show me any unallocated space. So I went ahead and installed Western Digital's SSD dashboard and LifeGuard Diagnostics.
The SSD dashboard doesn't detect the SSD at all. The LifeGuard Diagnostics detects it as "Sandisk Milpitas SSD (ATA) with 0mb capacity. I completed the diagnostic tests and it shows ok, but what's weird is that it shows "0GB" for capacity under the diagnostic test as well.
So my question is this - did this SSD just take a crap? I'm still within the 1 year warranty period for iBuyPower, but wanted to get some advice prior to talking with them. Thanks for all of the help!
