Question SSD got burnt due to split cables (Molex then Sata ahead of it)

So yesterday I was casually gaming on my PC and suddenly bios stops recognizing the drives. So I re-attached all the cables and as soon as I turned it ON smoke started coming out from SSD. I immediately cut the power. I searched on internet and found that the SSD was connected to split cables (Molex than SATA) which caused the SSD to burn via SATA power cable. The problem is that my PSU only has split cables only and I really wanna use SSD but not with split cables.

Unfortunately my PSU is non modular manufactured by a company named Great Wall. Unfortunately I have no more info about my PSU because I got it prebuilt but its a 500W that works just fine as I have tested via multimeter.

Check out this little post by transcend which says you shouldn't connect SSD to a split cable otherwise it would burn your SSD.

Idk how to use any SSD again with my PC 🙁

According to the info I got from internet, split cables of molex and SATA are known for burning SSD 2.5inch. I mean is there any alternative way I could go for? and hows the idea for a temporary external SSD just to store windows.
