[SOLVED] SSD/HDD not being detected in new build

Hi, so I just built a new PC, everything is new besides the HDD and SSD which was working in my old pc. Now when I try them in my new build it wont detect the disks in bios. Any help?


Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX X570-F
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
RAM: Kingston Fury 32GB
GPU: ASUS Geforce RTX 3070 ti
PSU: Corsair RM850
SSD: WD Green 240GB SSD (SATA)
HDD: 1TB HDD (SATA)

The system doesn't detect the SSD at all, so can't reinstall windows on it.

I have tried with both connected, only SSD connected, only HDD connected, and also different ports and no luck

Then I would suspect faulty motherboard, or something is not connected properly.

double check SATA power is also connected to drives in question, and not just SATA data cable?

Yes the power cable is connected to both drives

Try booting from a usb with a real drive partitioning tool like Gparted or Minitool Partition Wizard and see if they recognize the drives. If successful delete all existing partitions so that all space is unallocated and ensure that the drives have GPT partition identifiers.

Try different sata ports on the mobo.
Try different sata data cables.
Try different sata power cables.
Look through the bios for an enable/disable sata.
