So i have 2 ssds already installed, in the first and third socket. Im looking to install a nvme m.2 gen 4 ssd (for running games) in the 2nd socket slot right next to my gpu.
Now what i was wondering was if there would be any overheating issues for the ssd, since its right next to my gpu, and it woudlnt have a heatsink.

Gen 4 M.2 drives absolutely require a heatsink.
On Gen 3 M.2 drive heatsinks are optional.

Swap places for your gen 3 and gen 4 drives, so gen 4 drive gets a heatsink.

You didn't list model names of your M.2 drives.
So - I'm not really sure, you have any gen 3 M.2 drives installed.

oh yeah mb, heres the ssd i already have in the 2 slots:
-Slot 1: 1tb Wd Blue Sn570 Pcie Nvme M.2 Ssd (came with the prebuilt and has windows os on it)
- Slot 3: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1tb Nvme M.2 Internal Ssd
I think both of those are gen 3

Im planning on getting the samsung 990 pro 2tb ssd
