Hi all,

This MBR-partitioned SSD with Windows 10 on it won't boot on my new Biostar H310M motherboard.
Yet this very same SSD used to work on my previous motherboard.
My new motherboard is configured for both UEFI & Legacy boot.
Weirdly enough, the SSD is only recognized on SATA 3 or 4, not on SATA 1 or 2.

Would very much appreciate suggestions on how to proceed.

What error do you get, when trying to boot?
Can you get into windows safe mode?

Generally - a new motherboard requires windows reinstall.
If you try to avoid it, you get several issues:
boot mode compatibility - system doesn't boot,
driver incompatibilities - bsods, crashes, bad performance,
windows activation issues - can not activate windows.

I land into the bios without error, but it just won't boot into Windows.

The reason I did not reinstall Windows is that I want to keep my previous system config.

It's probably trying to boot in UEFI mode.
Make sure, you have set legacy mode boot first - in boot priority settings.

Edit:
In Boot option filter - set Legacy only.
thanks - i have tried it but to no effect. Both in Legacy only and in UEFI & Legacy
