Please give us a list of all the other parts in this system.Hey,
I just got my Samsung 870 Qvo 1tb ssd, I put it on the place my old HDD was (which connected still), but my SSD does not show up.
Its not in Disk Management or Samsung Magicial.
Not sure what can cause the problem here.
I use Windows 10
Please give us a list of all the other parts in this system.
Move the SATA data cable to a different port. Its in the slot where my old HDD in was (which works if I plug the cables from the new SSD to the HDD)
Im not sure what the name of this Sata slot is but its the one on the right, last row
Yep the 2 cables are connected, I just switched it to the HDD again and that one does still work.Move the SATA data cable to a different port.
Is the SATA power cable connected?
Above...left...mean nothing.Yep the 2 cables are connected, I just switched it to the HDD again and that one does still work.
Does it matter to which port I switch? The one above, to the left or?
I must have missed something, I do not know what the names are of the sata ports or how to find it out?Above...left...mean nothing.
The ports are labeled.
As above, #5 & 6 are disabled.
The ports circled in RED are disabled.I must have missed something, I do not know what the names are of the sata ports or how to find it out?
But it only makes sense that the port should work right? Since the same exact cable works with a HDD.
The cable is not in one of these 2.The ports circled in RED are disabled.
Use any of the others.
Next up, look in Storage Spaces within Windows. The cable is not in one of these 2.
This only shows my 970 evo, nothing elseNext up, look in Storage Spaces within Windows.
hmm....don't suppose you have a different PC to check this with? This only shows my 970 evo, nothing else
Sadly not no.hmm....don't suppose you have a different PC to check this with?
So, to recap:Sadly not no.
That is correct yesSo, to recap:
The HDD works, in whatever port.
The 870 does NOT work, even with the same cable in the same port.
Trying other ports (1-4) also does not work.
Correct?
I'm mostly out of ideas, except maybe a DOA.That is correct yes
Thanks a lot for the help, I hope someone can figure it out..I'm mostly out of ideas, except maybe a DOA.
Maybe someone else will chime in.
