I am starting to notice that the read speed latency of my SSD seems to vary wildly in opening files. Specifically, sometimes they will open immediately, other times it may take up to 10 seconds.
I read online something about some SSDs had a firmware bug where older files would take longer to read. I ran the utility from that article, but the output did not seem to show any pattern based on file age.It shows an average of 368 MB/s with low and high outliers around 50 and 500 MB/s respectively. Most activity seemed to be between 300 and 450 MB/s.
Again, the symptom seems to be extreme latency (~10s) in 1 of every ~7 files or programs I try to access for read. Anecdotally, I haven't seemed to notice anything inconsistent about write speeds,
Thoughts?
Windows 7 x64 sp1, 16GB physical RAM (typically 10+ GB free), no paging file
