Question SSD wont boot after plugging in RGB controller to the same cable

Recently swapped cases, SSD booted up without issue and went smoothly for a day or so. I forgot about my LED strips so I installed them etc and it seems that caused something. Ended up connecting the power from the controller into a secondary power slot on the same cable used on my SSD. After that it seems Windows cant start properly. My bios shows my SSD as usual with nothing changed for booting yet it gets stuck on a windows update and now I can't get passed the splash screen. Unfortunately I have no control over any Windows repair options due to a password issue. Not entirely sure if that was the main cause but any advice, suggestions etc is appreciated

Tried a few methods to cause a repair that either also got stuck like the image i attached or sometimes a brief repair process would show but it immediately tried booting windows soon after (basically also became stuck on the splash screen as a result)

Wouldn't doubt that but would a fresh reinstall work? Asking since the SSD isn't displayed on the windows repair screen as storage/device, though it does show in bios. Windows does show my HDD in the repair screen but nothing else is detected there

Skould work unless the SSD was somehow damaged at the time too.

If you do a fresh install make sure to unplug all drives except the one your installing windows on.

I appreciate the help, weirdly enough it turns out just swapping the mobo cable between the SSD and HDD managed to fix it somehow. Not sure why I didnt try that earlier

Is your new PSU modular, and are you using the cables that came with it? Swapping cables between different PSUs can cause damage or produce strange outcomes. That's because the pinouts are not standardised.
