Stardew is a farming role-playing simulation video game. The game is a combination of planning and strategy-developing abilities. It consists of multiple real-life like quests that players are supposed to finish by following the typical game procedures. The nature of the game is such that many new players get lost in the initial phases. After a few round of quests, they seem to have no idea about how to proceed in the quests further.
Stardew has many real-life quests for the players that need to be completed by making a proper plan and devising intelligent strategies. One of the quests is called ‘Aquatic research’ which, as the name suggests, is related to water and ocean.
Walkthrough
As a player, this quest will be triggered on the 6th of Summer during the second year. A character named Demetrius will send you a letter, asking you to give him a Pufferfish. In order to give him the fish, you will need to go fishing.
Quests in Stardew tests different abilities of the players. This one tests your patience and timing. Within the game, Pufferfish appear in the ocean which is the area bordering the beach and Willy’s Fishing Shop. It is made further problematic that the fish only show up during certain timings. First, they turn up in the morning and then early afternoon, roughly between 12 am to 2 / 3 pm. Now, this is not a huge window of time, and also when you finally catch the fish, it will give you a fight and won’t come easy. To avoid you the confusion on how to catch the fish, here is a brief manual for the player that will help you find and catch a Pufferfish with ease.
1. Visit the beach earlier in the day and begin fishing first thing. It’s not known exactly when Pufferfish start to appear (12 is the closest to a consistent time ever noticed) but going early will give you a lot of time to get there and settle yourself in the fishing crease.
2. Attach a bait to your lure. It will help bring in fish easily compared to an empty lure.
3. Work on your fishing skill and upgrade it to a higher level. Catching five or six fishes should give you a fair chance against a Pufferfish.
4. Equip the fibreglass rod, and if possible also the Iridium rod. This will help in faster, and easier fishing. Both these rods get unlocked when you increase your fishing skill.
5. Brace yourself for lots of fast reeling and quick changes in elevation.
Once you have successfully snagged a Pufferfish, you might want to take it to Demetrius.
He lives at the Carpenter’s Shop and for the most part of the day can be found there. If not at the Shop Demetrius can usually be found either in the park to the west of the Community Center or on the banks of the water near the Mines. As a reward, he will give you 750 gold for the pufferfish and a bump to affection.
