Start button not working on Windows 10

Hello, the title explains it all. When i press the windows button on my keyboard nothing happens, i have tried every single solution i have found on the internet:
-running sfc /scannow in a batch file
-running sfc/ scannow in powershell
-restarting explorer.exe
-rebooting after every step
and everything else from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIwiTJhNFrs

I did not do anything specific at all to cause this, i was litterally just browsing youtube and then it stoppped working. Ideas?

That key has probably crapped out on you unfortunatley. To test this for sure try executing a command that utilises the windows key such as "Run" for example. Press Windows key + R in that order a little "Run" dialogue should appear. If it does not then we can safely say that your windows key is broken.

Before we jump to that conclusion however, if you have a specific keyboard aimed at "gaming" then make sure the windows key lock mode is not enabled. Many gaming keyboards come with this feature and it can be useful but if you have accidentally enabled it then that can cause a world of stress

What's the brand and model of the keyboard? Some keyboards have a Windows key lockout feature for use during gaming.

I was testing this earlier and infact you are right, windows + (R,E, etc) does not work either, i do have a gaming keyboard but i'm not sure it has a "gaming mode" like more expensive ones. I will plug in an old PS2 keyboard and see if you are actually right.

ha! and what do you know, my keyboard DOES have a function to disable the windows key, i found this out by very scientifically holding the FN button and clicking everything clickable on the keyboard until it actually worked, turns out it's a function assigned to the F12 button. Thanks for giving me the hint, i wouldn't have figured this out by myself.
