Start Menu too quick

Hi I hope someone can help - just this morning my laptop suddenly appears to
have accelerated everything - when I click on start, then all programmes,
the programmes list appears for about 1.5 secs and then disappears - it does
this whether or not my mouse pointer is hovering over the list or if I
actually click the list. I have tried rebooting but the problem persists.
If I am quick enough I can open the desired programme - this can take
several attempts and is v irritating - any suggestions welcome before I
start thinking about restoring.

Since this happened so suddenly, try a System Restore to just before the
problem. Since you have a hard time with the Start Menu, try doing this
from the command line instead:

Start>Run>cmd [enter]
c:\Windows\System32\restore\rstrui.exe [enter]
