Hello there!
I have decided to start looking for monitors to use with my 3080 Ti and 1070 setup.
Setup: 5900X/3080 Ti and 7700/1070
I’ll fill out this i information and if any questions or preferences are needed, feel free to ask. I’d like to keep the price to a maximum of 6-700 dollars. Thank you for reading and helping me with this post.

Country of Origin: United States

what you plan to do: I plan to play competitive games, as well as calmer games. I would also lightly watch movies/tv on it.

Resolution and Screen Size: I would like it to be 1440p. It doesn’t matter if it’s ultra wide or not. Screen size doesn’t matter too much to me.

Refresh Rate: I would like a refresh rate of 200Hz+

Budget: I am looking to spend about 400-600 dollars, I might see 700 if it’s good.

Brands Preferred: Not really any, just not any small unknown brands please.

I am only buying one monitor as I will use my 1080p60 monitor as a second display.

I believe it supports a max of 4 displays. I am using the RTX 3080 Ti from NVIDIA. I cannot confirm drivers as the system is not set up yet.

I think I would connect DP to DP or HDMI to DP.

This would be the new primary display. No, it is not for a laptop.

Hm. I understand the prices and such, although at Micro Center I was recommended a certain $500 monitor, but I can’t seem to find it on their website. I believe it was an Acer 1440p 240hz.

Hello! So I have come to a fork in the road. IPS or VA? Apparently some VAs are just as good as some IPS panels, but it seems like IPS is generally better. However the mere panel difference causes the actual price difference to be $200 when discounted and $400 when not discounted. In Micro Center, there is a 240hz Monitor from Acer but it is IPS, it is currently on sale for $600. Is it worth buying? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for both of your answers! I will for sure watch that video. As for the LG monitor, they don’t seem to have any on the higher end of refresh rates due to the fact that they have much better panels. I’m unfortunately not planning to invest in a 4K display currently because the ones that are in my budget are 60 Hz.

just make sure you get hdr, when the game supports it, its really good. asus have a 32" ips 175hz 1440p hdr8 gsync which was alright. they say its 1ms response rate but thats bs, if you use the setting for 1ms you get so much ghosting its not usable. so playable response rate is around 6ms if i remember right and pretty sure was in your budget.

I was just wondering what would work best for my 3080 Ti. If they both have valid connectors, I’ll go with the Acer one, because it has a limited discount for $630 from $900 vs the Aorus one with no discount at $700.

yeah, it will be no problem. hdmi 2.1 is for 4k 120fps. you're only on 2k , you don't need the bandwidth that comes with hdmi 2.1. Also the monitor won't kill itself by using an input that won't support all its features.
