Why wouldn't I want something that is more portable than even "ultra portable PCs" at about half the price of one? I'm also pretty sure in terms of actual processing power, it's not that far away either.

What I don't understand is why people is not jumping over the idea of it. Making these devices more common you won't have to deal with garbage mobile games as much? Maybe? xD

Also, Steam hardware is great... Or at least the things I've gotten from them are top notch: Steam Controller, Valve Index and now the Deck. So I may be biased, but as I said already, I'm really curious about it. I want it to be good!

Regards.
Its a good idea, for what it is.

But with an "ultra portable PC", you can also do things other than game.

If you had the budget for only one....which would you choose?

You can plug this into a dock and do all those other things as well.
Heck you could probably even connect a blutooth keyboard/mouse or even usb and work it like a normal PC.

That is if the inbuild use-the-touchscreens-as-keyboards turns out to be horribad.

In a limited fashion, maybe.
Screensize, etc.

Long long ago, when the PlaystationPortable was a new thing, I used my sons to log on and check my bank balance.

Could you connect a monitor/keyboard/mouse to one of these?
Maybe.
And then you just have a crappy laptop.

Buying all that extra junk brings up in the range of an actual laptop.

It is good for what it is.
It is not a universal device.

I got a message to try back later when I tried to place my order. I came back a few hours later to place my order for the 512GB model.

Yeah, pretty much.
But at least those are in one package.
It'll come down to touchscreen and/or the touch pads it has and how effective they are at replacing a mouse. Then the screen keyboard's usefulness.

If you really must, you can always just connect a secondary screen, just like in a laptop/ultra portable to have more "usable space". It does come with USB-C and an AMD video card, so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

Regards.
