Keeps blinking, doesn't get recognizes by windows 10. I've been troubleshooting for more than an hour now trying to fix it without success.

Tried uninstalling all steelseries programs, all old drivers.

Under device manager it's 'Unknown USB device' ''This device has been stopped because of Error 43, adress can't be obtained''

In the past when I had problem with it not being recognized by windows all I had to do was update with correct driver. However it doesn't seem to be any for this steelseries mouse, they just have an engine for all of their devices.
Uninstalling/deactivating the driver doesn't do anything.

I tried to plug the mouse into my laptop but I get the same issue there.

Please help me! I think I need to manually update with the mouse driver, how can I obtain it?

If you tried it on 2 PC and get same error, are they both on same version of Win 10?
right click start
choose run...
type winver

If they on different versions, I would have to say the mouse is the problem

if on same, try another PC and see if mouse works

Mouse was working all fine until I tried to update windows, I'm on 1709 right now since I reverted the latest update in hopes of it would work.

Are you saying this is just a big coinsidence that the mouse broke at the same time as I updated windows? Never had issues before this.

Really appreciate your answer though since I'm getting so frustrated at this point trying to figure out what the issue is..

I just tried another mouse and that one is working fine, never used this mouse before either so It found the driver with no problem.

Does raw have a CPU onboard like the normal Sensei? I am using a 2012 model with no steelseries engine running at all, it has Drivers onboard mouse.

Maybe if it works on another PC, check if there are new drivers or a firmware update. Did you try downloading this: https://steelseries.com/engine

blinking seems to tie into bad firmware

While many people have no use for this guide, I recently had a bootloader issue and nobody seemed to know what to do, in fact, steelseries' own help page is horribly outdated and has links to pages that no longer exist, so I thought I would post this in the hope that I can help people in the future. I had the issue with my steelseries sensei, but this should work for any peripheral.

Note: I did all of these things, and I am not 100% sure if any of these are not needed. Also, I did this to fix the bootloader not found issue, however, this should work with just about any issue as this completely re-installs everything. You will need two mice for this, your steelseries one, and another one to navigate while that is not usable (that is if you are fixing a mouse, if you are fixing a keyboard have two of those, ect.).

1. Remove all steelseries software from the computer (Engine, firmware updater, ect.) Note: if you have both steelseries engine 3 and steelseries engine 2 (just called steelseries engine) just remove the one that pertains to what you are fixing

2. Make sure there is no steelseries software running (task manager > processes) if there are any, hit end process

3. Plug in your extra mouse/keyboard, then remove all outdated drivers from old products (this is a good thing to do anyway) (device manager > view > show hidden devices, then go down to mouse/keyboard and right click > uninstall do this to all the old drivers), also uninstall your steelseries mouse/keyboard (I was able to tell my two mice apart because my spare had power saving settings, but the steelseries did not (as it was not fully functional), also, old mice will be grayed out, connected ones will not be)

4. Turn the computer off, then plug in the mouse/keyboard

5. Turn the computer on

6. Let windows do its thing for a little while with the drivers (it will probably fail, mine did)

7. You should now have at least some functionality with the mouse (can move it and click, but maybe not use scroll wheel/click and drag), if you have full functionality that is fine

8. Download the steelseries engine

9. Go through the installer, it will ask you to update firmware, say yes

10. You should now have a fully updated mouse/keyboard that is ready to game!

Again, this guide may be useless to a lot of people, but if even one person can save themselves the 2.5 hours of troubleshooting I had to go through, then it is worth it.

Thanks for replying, I've tried all of these guides to troubleshoot the error by now and none of them have worked.

The mouse itself does have a cpu onboard, it normally works without the SS engine.

I'm pretty sure I know how to fix it but I can't find any driver to download for the mouse..

Windows can't recognize the mouse, so I have to manually install the correct driver for it. But HOW do I find that driver???

How old is mouse? Maybe the driver onboard isn't new enough to be digitally signed to work with win 10 and windows is just ignoring it (as I think Microsoft have strengthened win 10's resistance to running unsigned drivers). I updated mine last year sometime.

Do you have a win 7 or 8 PC you can test it on? The steelseries engine is how you update drivers, if your mouse is fairly old you might need to use steelseries engine 2 to update mouse, as version 3 doesn't recognise my mouse at all - hence reason its not installed now. I have a set of Siberia headphones I cannot use as it needs steelseries engine to work, and as it doesn't see my mouse, one of the 2 had to go without. I use headset much less often than mouse

I had it working on windows 10 before i tried to do a windows update, so that's not an issue.

Mouse doesn't get recognized by engine 2 or 3 either, and I get the same error on my laptop on another version of W10.

Do you know of any standalone mouse drivers that would work with my sensei RAW?

how long did update take to install? was it say 40 minutes as that is a version update, you likely have version 1709 build 16299.19 now

when I talked about driver signatures being strengthened, that happened in a recent update so it could be an issue still. Win 10 prior to the update was perfectly fine running unsigned drivers, but in last few weeks I have seen people have issues with drivers that were installed before the update.

Code 43: Cause

One of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner.

It could also be the mouse that stopped. Does mouse work in the bios?

the stock standard Windows drivers should work with it. Sensie are special in that they have drivers onboard, so hard to say if it uses MS drivers or the onboard ones. I know the profiles are stored on mouse as I can change the mouse speed and colors just by clicking the button. I can't think of any stand alone mouse drivers otherwise.

Doesn't work in BIOS either.

Just updated once again and now using windows 10 Insider, 17025 prerelease.

Mouse is still the same, flashing like crazy and not recognized by windows.

The only way to fix it is to manually update the driver, correct me if I'm wrong though.

WHERE CAN SOMEONE OBTAIN THIS DRIVER?

IT WORKS NOW, I got mad and unplugged and plugged the usb back in about 20 times and somehow then the engine started to recognize the mouse to update the firmware. I think something went wrong since I updated the enginedriver and windows at the same time.

Thanks a lot for your patience, this has taken me 3 hours now and I'm exhausted. Good lad Colif
