[citation][nom]darasen[/nom]A comment like that I sure as hell hope you use Linux.[/citation]
So what ? Linux is a good OS. It was so good that Apple's OS-X resemble many Linux distros and based on Unix; and that MS Win 7 has many features similar to Linux. So why not use Linux ?

[citation][nom]Zingam[/nom]Oh, come on, Dude! The biggest evil in the hitech world is Microsoft (on the software side) and Intel (on the hardware one). Apple is nowhere near the damage that is caused by Microsoft.I've installed the "great" Windows 7 ten months ago. I don't install crap on it. I don't have any crapware, etc. and yet ten months later it runs much slower than in the beginning. WTF is that!!!! Why would I need to reinstall Windows all the time?? Why the OS should take half of my PC resources and get into my way? I want to use my application software and not Windows/Linux - etc. I'm not a damn admin or hacker. I'm a user![/citation]

Does Microsoft take a commission (a 30% commission) on any software third-party developers build to run on Windows ? Does Intel take a commission (a 30% commission) on any thing (including MS Windows) that runs on its CPUs ?

Does Microsoft charge money (30% to the publishers), when someone buy an e-book and read it on Windows ? Does Intel charge money (30% to the studios), when you watch your DVD (or Netflix) on your computer ?

Apple does. Period.

Steve Jobs is continuing as Chairman of the Board. There is no question that the loss of his day to day management efforts will hurt Apple. His greatest achievement has been to prove that a computer is a product that requires integration of software and hardware in order to maximize efficiency and compatibility. The real test of Steve's management ability will be how Apple reacts to his resignation. If Apple continues to grow and innovate after Steve is gone then you will know he was the best manager of the last century. In any case, he is one of the top 10. You can hate his style, but you can't question his ability to take charge and make the tough decisions. I don't know of a more honest and hardworking man in his generation.

Now that he's gone, does that mean we'll see the return of the apple clones?

Or maybe OS X (X86) & iOS (ARM) for sale to the mere mortal public?

I wonder what Apple's NeXTSTEP will be?

I may not agree with the direction that Apple has gone, but one cannot deny their very successful business strategy and significant contributions to digital computing.

I hope that with this change of leadership Apple can become more open. You could start by integrating flac support in iTunes. 😉

As much as I could go on forever with my Apple tirades, I do not want to see Steve Jobs die, or become ill. I hope him the best with his health.

This is pretty sudden and weird. Don't really know what to say/think.

What we want is a more open Apple. I will never support Apple until they are open. Besides Steve job is kinda Java/flash hater. Not supporting flash on his mobile product these days is a joke.

Wait, so they are going to put the guy who ran the company into the ground in control? What are they thinking?

On another note: I have been a huge apple hater, but I am not going to rejoice with all the foxconn workers in China over this. He showed just what he could do, and did it to the best of his ability. He took a crap company and made it great, and then brought it back from the brink of death into one of the most interesting companies in the world. While I do not agree with the philosophy behind apple, I must say, he thought differently, and kept life very interesting in the tech world.

Probably realizes the iPhone 5 is garbage compared to the newer Android phones & doesn't want to accept the shame of defeat.

Has Apple and Steve Jobs ruined you life that much? I mean really what has he done to warrant this level of callousness?

Apple is about hype and deceit. Mr Jobs had a great deal to do with both. Now that he is gone, a con artist of his skills might lead to iNicelycasedcrap's decline.

Do I like Mr Job? I hate the arrogance that he has unleashed in the ranks of the technological invertebrates that like flies flock to bonfires, flock to his products. He has delivered the blow of mediocrity on the march of technology by emphasizing looks over substance. He has hoodwinking technologically retarded people into purchasing devices that lack connectivity and user serviceability; imagine laptops without exchangeable batteries. Mr Jobs is responsible for the dumbing-down of his fans. What is iTunes but a jail compared to programs like Winamp? Mr Jobs will likely go down in the history of technology as the man that through deceit robbed people of their money and technological freedom while giving them a false sense of security, not to mention the false sense of coolness that emanates from his technologically illiterate fanboys as they parade their nicely cased drm infested hardware.
In short, Apple is about technological backwardness and deceit, and we have to thank Mr Jobs for his mastery of propaganda.

Man talking about blind hatred in the comments. Just about every pro Apple comments get voted down and every Apple bashing post get voted up. What have Apple done to ruin your life? Why all the hatred? Did they make your PC cost more? Did they take away innovation? Did they take away your right to choose?

People on these post are just vicious.

One more thing, for all your complains about Apple not being open, maybe you should also try to keep an open mind......

People on these post are just vicious.

So hoping that Apple would go out of business and reducing people's choice is your answer? So everyone should use Windows on their desktop and Android on their smartphone? So in fact you don't like choices or competition; all you want is monopoly. Makes perfect sense.

[citation][nom]brickman[/nom]I know he has bad health, but since Apple has like more money than the US government, Jobs must have a nice retirement check? Or how that works? I got 60 years until I retire[/citation]
I'm only 100K in debt, so I have more money than the current government. 😀
