Strange problem

Okay this is one for the computer experts out there.

I had to change the case on my old computer. It ran okay before but the case and power supply needed to be changed. The components are the same nothing has changed there and its still running XP, but it now has a nice shiny coolmaster elite case. After a bit of tinkering i got the motherboard and the drives fitted in the new case and now it starts up okay and both HDDs and the DVD writer are seen and working and i can access the HDDs and load things like MS word, AVG ect and they run okay and i can surf the internet.

The problem is when i try to play a game such as NWN or Rome Total War the game loads to the final screen then stops and nothing happens then after a few more minutes the computer resets. Now these 2 games ran okay before the move so i think it must be something that happened during the move. i did a couple of scans of the C HHD and nothing was found.

It is not my main computer its quite old now. I only wanted it working to play some of my older games. This problem is annoying me.

reseat your heatsink, I had the same problem after doing some cable management, even moving the base of the heatsink a tiny bit will screw up were the TIM goes so there isn't as clean a connection from the CPU to the heatsink. This causes the temps to go sky-high at load which causes a crash after a certain point.
