Hi.

I have build bugdet gaming PC. The goal was to play Fortnite and CSGO. I build PC based on DELL 7010 Tower (not slim etc). The problem I face is that i have rare huge drops in FPS. Games are stuttering from time to time. They make the game playable but are annoying. It is very well represented in the benchmarks from MSI afterburner results (i.e. Fortnite AVG 60 FPS and 1% 10 FPS):

Fortnite 900p Low
Average framerate : 59.3 FPS
Minimum framerate : 0.6 FPS
Maximum framerate : 61.9 FPS
1% low framerate : 10.1 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 0.6 FPS
Fortnite 900p Medium
Average framerate : 59.4 FPS
Minimum framerate : 42.6 FPS
Maximum framerate : 61.8 FPS
1% low framerate : 22.2 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 6.0 FPS
CSGO 900p
Average framerate : 92.1 FPS
Minimum framerate : 39.7 FPS
Maximum framerate : 208.0 FPS
1% low framerate : 18.4 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 2.7 FPS

PC Specs:
i5 3470 from DELL
8GB RAM (4x2GB 2xDual channel) bought separately second hand
Asus GTX 750 1 GB OC bought separately second hand
HDD Seagate 5400 RPM 500GB (ST500LT012 ) from my old laptop

Parameters while gaming
Temps: CPU and GPU < 65 C
Clocks: Running at max, no drops. CPU@3600, GPU@1200
Usage (CSGO example): CPU@50-60%, GPU@99%

For me suspicious is hard drive however I have red that HDD does not limit FPS just loading times.

Hope anybody good help or guide me.

Hello kijana83,

Can you tell me the PSU you are using? If the PSU is under or exactly 450W then the PC has not got enough power so buy a new PSU.

Hope this helps,

Hello kijana83,

Thanks for the details of the PSU. You are wrong, 280W is too low for a NVIDIA GTX 750. I have searched it up myself and loads of people have issues with a 280W PSU.
