Greetings, I want to ask what's the best I can do for my slow old HP 14-AC156TU P3V45PA Notebook. I'm mad at this piece, really.

When I look at the memory it only has 2GB RAM and the card is 2GB 1Rx16 PC3L 12800S.

I am thinking to buy a pair of new RAM (the old one can be detached) and new SSD for it but dunno what to put, if there's recommendation I'll really appreciate it, thank you in advance 🙏

P.S. It'll only be used as writing laptop for my sis' thesis.

That's not a bad laptop if I do say so myself.

Here's what you can do;
1| Drop in a larger HDD in the ODD area using a 9.5mm Secondary Drive caddy(which can be left out if you're on too tight of a budget).
2| Pick up a 2.5" (7mm or 9.5mm thickness)SATA based SSD of any brand with at least 256GB of space to have your OS and app's installed on.
and
3| Pick up a dual channel 2x8GB DDR3L-1600MHz ram kit as your laptop can work with a maximum of 16GB's of ram. If you don't have the funds, I'd advise on getting a 2x4GB ram kit at the very least to see a small uplift in the overall performance.

Prior to performing any of the above upgrades, please make sure that your laptop's BIOS s up to date.
