I earlier installed a ram but it was incompatible because of cas # latency. Please suggest me a 8gb ram whose cas latencies matches with my current ram. As I am unable to find the correct latency . My ram is 1600 mhz 4 gb and here is its cpu-z SPD screenshot. https://prnt.sc/v6bgh0.
Please, find me a 8gb ram as because of cas latencies mis-match the performance was even low. Pls suggest fast as I really need to buy for my online classes.
Thanks in advance : )

So.... What do I do now ?

Hm? :) I thought you 'd orientate yourself after the thread's posts.
You want some direct things?
Well, buying 2nd hand ram from s.o. there is not that risky, you know. So if your local sellers are out, this is one option in ur country, I guess.
If you want some sample links from anywhere of the world:

https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-M471...+sodimm+1600+pc3l+intel&qid=1603646256&sr=8-5

https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Samsun...467323&hash=item56c57a1c95:g:Bx0AAOSwXgdc7zsc...
Are you asking for the laptop you mention in other threads (hp 15-n010tx)?

It seems like it is really difficult to find an official memory support list, just can be found advertisers and merchants such as this one:
https://www.mrmemory.co.uk/memory-ram-upgrades/hp/pavilion-notebook/15-n010tx

You need ram stick with PC3L (means low-voltage=1,35V) with latencies 11-11-11-28, made for both Intel and AMD. Back in time AMD has had the ** idea of making ram sticks compatible only for them, so you 'd better evade such sticks, though among PCs some boards that can surround this problem, but this is an usual laptop, it seems. Samsung and Hynix have always impressed me well with compatibility, almost same for Elixir (Nanya) and not very much for Kingston and Adata.

If you'd be fine with just another 4 GB stick (well, preferrably the same as your Micron with that M-letter), then go for it instead. Mixing different amounts of ram has bigger potential of incompatibility/not working in pure dual-channel.

Can't you find some local sellers to 'experiment'? Samsung and Hynix sticks tend to be common.

Yes , I am looking for my laptop hp-15-n010tx
Thanks for letting me know the number 11-11-11-28 , I have seen many latencies in this format but didn't knew which one matches mine , and also didn't knew how to find this number.
I tried finding the same ram with the help of model number ( Micron Ram Prebuilt )and even found it on amazon but it is sold by some sketchy seller and looks refurbished.( even though it doesn't mentions it.
I will try finding the ram with those latencies ( I think I have seen this latency before )
Because of Corona there is no shop opened near me.
Thanks for the help. : )

the number 11-11-11-28
In Samsung, Hynix, the Intel-compatible aData ones and probably other sticks (brands) even just one time 11 or CL11 mentioned there means that the rest is same (I'll not comment Kingston and Elixir [Nanya]. They may have unhandy difference)
For example 12800S pc3L will have same defaults for codes 11-12-F3 and 11-11-F3 . for Hynix and Samsung.

On Newegg searching seems a bit problematic in the terms of results, mb there is s.th., but I haven't shopped from there and I dunno.
eBay and Aliexpress can be bought from, though I prefer trusted/top sellers from there. Careful buying can save one a lot of money.
And try to contact the seller before purchasing.

If I could, I'd get a 16 GB kit (8x2), but I don't know the OP's budget.
I can actually I even thought about it but the problem is that due to my CPU & GPU being old most likely they will bottleneck the ram and I wouldn't be able to use all 16 gb thats why I am settling for 12 gb (4gb+8gb). Here are my specs , do you think they will be able to use 16 gb at its full potential .
i3-3217u
2gb vram ( AMD HD 8670M )
4 gb ram
Yes, these seem to be set 11-11-11-28, so they should be fully compatible and working well with the other stick of the OP.
SO are you sure 11-11-11-28 my type of ram as exactly this type of memory is available on crucial , but I don't know whether micro-center ships internationally ( I'm from India ). Not doubting or something just making sure before I buy .
Thanks to both of you for the support , I will ask about any alternative if micro-center doesn't ships to India.

Ram defaults to running the lowest speed of the ram sticks, the highest voltage and the highest latency, so you could run anything with tighter timings, such as the 9-9-9-24 and it'll lower to the 11-11-11-28 of your existing ram.
Thanks But a few days ago I installed a new ram and it worsened my performance , even though they had the same latencies & clock speed . could you tell why was a performance downgrade ( both of them were working and all 8gb ram were being shown )
Cpu-z screenshots of both the ram are given below-
new ram -https://prnt.sc/v38dy5
old ram-https://prnt.sc/v38dic
Although the latencies (11-11-11-28 ) same but a few other numbers were different.
Can you pls tell because of which set numbers the performance was low ? and how to avoid such rams?

I'm doubting it has anything to do with the latency. I think that was just an assumption by you. When you added the new ram, did you then reset the bios for the new ram addition? Did you check to see what speeds it was running? Does it require an xmp setting to 1600?

no other way for performance to go except up, aka improve.
What if I say my fps reduced to half and the input lag was tripled, would you consider that a performance drop and also after the removal of ram it came back to normal and also there was no really improvement in windows functioning either

I will try that but can you pls tell that the ram I am am planning to buy

Will it work with my current ram ?

Well, then you're doing something wrong because that's not what's supposed to happen even in theory. More memory generally speeds up systems since more stuff is in memory. Your motherboard could be having issues or the ram itself could be. I would run memtest on it with everything installed and see if it is throwing errors.

Yes. Well, 99% yes, cuz only the matched pairs are a thing with 100%, but never mind. Compatibility is alright with this Corsair.
In fact, do you still keep the 'low-performance' ram?
Thanks a lot , I will but it shortly
the low performance had been refunded but I do have its cpu-z screenshot , You want it ?
: ) Thanks again
