Greetings all.

I hope this section is OK, because I couldn't find one on switches.

I wanted to know a few things before I buy. Here are my questions:

1. What is the difference between the ProSafe GS116 and the GS116v2 (http://www.netgear.com/images/GS116v2_DS_23Feb0918-5350.pdf) switches?

2. What is the size of the Queue Memory Buffer present on the Netgear ProSafe Plus GS116E switch? I think I read that it was 512KB. What I need to know is, is that 512KB per port or shared amongst all 16 ports?

3. What are the differences between the GS116 and the GS116E? I know some of the differences, but I would like to know in detail about them, especially the hardware ones, before I make a selection.

Thank you.

Thanks!
I think that answers just about all my questions. :)
Are you sure that there are no hardware differences between the GS116(v2) and the GS116E? And that the 512KB of memory is per port, not shared? (I'd appreciate a link to that effect, if possible. I'm a networking n00b, so please bear with me.) 😉

@ Emerald:

Oops... you caught me as I was editing the message...
What I meant was, is there any *hardware* difference between the GS116v2 and the GS116E? Specifically, is the buffer memory equal for both?

Thanks.
