Switching to PCIe 2.0?

Hello, all.

My current system only supports PCIe version 1, but I notice that most of the new graphics cards these days are designed for PCIe 2.0. I realize that they are backwards-compatible, but I am wondering how much of a performance difference I would see with a PCIe 2.0 mobo, all other things being equal.

if your monitors resolution is not 2560x1600 then you will not see any performance loss, maybe ~2% at the most with a 1920x1080 screen, which is minimal.
