Symtoms of motherboard troubles?

Hello,
motherboard issues with dell inspiron 530.thought i was having cable issues since my internet service comes and goes. cable provider has made numerous visits. all fine on their end since my laptop performs without a hitch. brough pc to a tech shop where they got it to run pretty well. got it home, still not working . i run a stock program involving streaming data ------ data stream is on and off and states "missed X amount of messages". email, IE, firefox etc open sometimes but not reliable. PC shop claims my PC is fine, cable claims their end is fine. right now i've hooked up to a friends internet service, and i'm still having issues. help!

could be an issue with your install of windows. or something with the network card.

can try reinstalling windows from scratch or putting a new network card in..


btw i assume the cable comes into a cable modem then connected via ethernet (network cable) to your computer.
