I upgraded my Cpu and now i can baerly use my pc since it crashes after about 15min. Ive tried to reset windows but it crashes mid reset. Noticed today that my motherboard is an 8th gen motherboard and i have a 9th gen Cpu. Could this be the source of my issues?

Intel i5-9600k

Your temperatures are very good.
Assuming your bios is current, the next thing to check is your motherboard chipset drivers.
Download them directly from the msi web site.
Do not use "driver helper" apps which can introduce malware.

It is extremely rare for an Intel processor to be faulty, but I suppose it could happen.
I think the warranty is 1 year.
Intel is good about a rma if the processor is truly faulty.
Is the 9600K new from a reputable seller?
There seem to be some fake processor scams around.

You will not get a warning if the processor should overheat.
Normally, overheating results in lowered multiplier and less performance until the situation resolves.

The 15 minute delay is indicative of something.

Perhaps it is your...

And if this doesnt work? Should I look into a new mobo?

What was your old processor?
Your motherboard does support 9600K with the proper bios level.
You should have no issue with your current motherboard.

What is your cpu cooler?
Failure after a period of time smacks of a heat issue.
A stock intel pushpin cooler will not do a good job.
That cooler is tricky to mount well.

Run HWmonitor.
It will give you the current, minimum and maximum processor temperatures.

What is the cpu temperature at idle?
I would expect to see 10-15c. over ambient if the cooler is working and mounted well.

If you see a max of 100c. your processor has shut down to protect itself .

The cpu temprature as of writing this is about 35c. with a maximum of 60 accordning to the program. Do you think this is the problem?
Cause one would think the system would send a warning or a notifier about it.
Also the air coming out from the back of my PC is not warm at all.

Faulty processor? Feels like this is alot of trouble for a simple upgrade like this

Perhaps it is your graphics card overheating.
If you have overclocked your GTX1080, back off to stock.
