System no detect hd?

Hi
i have a new hd Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3Y;when setup a windows xp ;it not detect.
can i do?

If BIOS doesn't detect it, try jumpering it for 3Gbps.

If it's a case of Windows not detecting your SATA controller, look for a preinstall driver and press F6 during setup. Alternatively, reconfigure your BIOS for legacy or IDE compatibility mode. Windows will then revert to its own native IDE drivers.
