Talking to Shrines

How does one go about talking to the daedric shrines?

I have read several posts about 'activating the shrive' or 'talking to the
shrine'.
Can someone explain this a little, because I'm at a loss. I have tried
talking to the shrines I've encountered in the same way you would talk to a
person, but no luck....

Only certain daedric shrines talk. If it's the right shrine, starting it's
dialog is no different than talking to an npc, or activating the little
temple shrines.

If you walk up to a statue and a message pops up saying something like,
"Shrine to Sheogorath," or "Shrine to Malacath," then you can press the
space bar to talk to it. Most Daedric shrine statues are not interactive -
there are only a few where you can actually talk to the statue.

Usually the way you tell is that the talking idols have the same type
of name bar that you have when you point at a regular NPC.
