Hi. I was changing the cpu affinity or usage for handbrake and was wondering why it says i have 12 cores (0-11) when my ryzen 5 2600 only has 6 cores and 12 threads
As far as software is concerned, they are the same thing. Its up to the processor to make it work. its probably not helpful that the "extra" cores are called threads, logical processors is a better choice.

Process affinity isn't so much "Process X can only run on 2 CPU cores/threads" It's "Process X can run specifically on CPU cores 0, 1, 5, 8, 12, and/or 23 (but not on cores 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9... etc.).
