Ok, so I'm new to XP.

When you have 20+ windows open, all at the same time, how do you stop XP from showing the up/down arrow on the far right of the taskbar? I'd like to go back to the win95/win98/win2k way, where all 20 windows are just crammed into a single line on the taskbar. I really don't want to resize it; I'd rather it change to suit me, not vice versa.

Thanks.

There is a check box to "Group similar taskbar buttons"... supposedly you check or uncheck this option. It worked for me on my last install but for some reason it isn't making any difference this time... try it and see (right click the task bar and choose properties and you'll get the menu).

Right after I posted, I started trying options I've not tried yet. That group similiar functions helped a little, but when you have 15 different programs running at the same time, it doesn't help much.

I'm having a love-hate relationship with Xp. Which is exactly opposite of the hate-love one I had going with Win2k.
