Greeting everyone
simple question again..what's the safe temperature for Northbridge?
We say that we should keep CPU below 50C (AMD), then what's the temperature I should keep below, for NB ?

Naah...50C is not to hot for a cpu. 50C is hot, but doesnt even burn your hand...Normal body temps is 37 and sometime 40 some with fever. I would say 65C for max stable CPU operation.

As for NB, I guess it depend of chipset brand.

-Always put the blame on you first, then on the hardware !!!

my nForce2 is usually at 35C
the other VIA KT333 is usually around 40C

both get a little higher when running sth intensive..
just wondering if 40C is a safe temperature
As for cpu..yeah, i agree that about 65C is for max stable cpu operation

What are you using to measure those temps? I have used an infrared thermometer on a few NBs. They tend to run hotter with higher fsb. With a 200mhz fsb, NBs average about 65c. The hottest item on the board is usually the vregs. They often go above 70c.

I'd always assumed that too!

So... What IS the 'System temp' then? and why did replacing my NB cooler bring it down by a couple of degrees?
