Temperature problem

I was playing a game on my p4 3.06 GHz PC. My PC satisfies the game's requirements. While playing, my CPU made a "tuck" like sound and the fans started to make a loud noise. When I restarted, the temperature was at 93C. I then reapplied the heatsink compound, but the problem still persists. I have been playing that game for 2 years but this incident happened for the first time. What could be the problem? (my PC is not overclocked)

First thing is to take the thing apart and clean out the insides. The second thing to do obviously is to sort out your cooling problem.
