Temporary profile? Apps have disappeared?

Hi all,

So I've just tried grabbing some data from my wife's failing laptop HDD. Seemed to go well and I got what I needed. So I shut down and unplug the HDD. When the computer restarts, it boots into a "temporary Windows profile" and my start-menu is completely stock. Plus, tons of apps are missing such as calendar, mail, weather, etc.

I don't know what's happened or what has caused this. All of my files seem to be in tact.

Help!?

It a temporary profile - you said that. You have a new blank(default) profile. The apps are probably still there, you just don't have shortcuts on the desktop.
