Hi Guys,

Please could some one help me out here?

When I plug my dongle into to my computer it doesn't pick up the wireless see picture bellow.

But when I pug it into any other PC it picks my wifi up straight away.

Solution
Have you tried it on other USB ports on this device, or have you only tried to use it on the same USB port each time? Are other devices working if you plug them into the USB ports?
Try right clicking on the wifi connection and selecting enable, or opening your wireless applet by clicking on the wireless signal icon in the taskbar and then clicking on the proper network and selecting connect. I'm not sure why you'd want to connect to the wifi when you have an existing and connected Ethernet connection that is almost certainly much faster and has lower lag.

Do you have drivers for it installed on this machine? Does this machine have a different/older operating system than the other PC's?

Windows update is up to date?

Is the Ethernet connection I'm seeing only so that you can use it to connect right NOW, or is this a mobile device normally that you prefer to have wireless access with so you can move around with the device? If this is a mainly stationary device, especially if used for gaming, I'd highly recommend using the Ethernet connection fulltime. Speeds will be faster and steadier and there will be less lag.

Have you tried running the troubleshooting by clicking diagnose on the right click context menu as seen in your image above. And are you trying to use it with Ethernet connected, or you've tried it without the Ethernet connected as well? If there is a LAN connection present, it will supercede any wireless connection and not allow it.

Hi, thanks for the reply,

I have ran the diagnosis tool to no avail.

And I have also tried running it without the Ethernet plugged into the PC , no JOY!

Please, I am a bit Tech savy and I have tried all steps to try and achieve a result, I just don't know what the the problem could be.

The other PC's in my home also have Ethernet connections, and when i plug the dongle in, no drivers installed it just picks up the Wifi present and asks if I want to connect.

Try going into device manager with the device attached, right click the device and select "Uninstall device" and then make sure to check the box next to "uninstall device driver", then unplug the device, reboot, plug the device back in and see if windows automatically reinstalls the device. Make sure your Ethernet connection is connected when you do this so it can find the correct drivers or go to the manufacturers website and download the most recent drivers first. If you have a disk that came with the device that has drivers, do not use them. Use the ones listed on the USB adapters hardware page at the manufacturer of the device's website.
