No, actually VW's suck beyond all belief. I love them and am an enthusiast but every VW owner/ enthusiast knows they are junk.
Ever since the mk2 generation, they are been reasonably priced, but they are SUPER unreliable, expensive to fix, cheaply made, etc.
They make some iconic cars though. The GTI being one of them. The R32 being the most well known icon by them.
They have such a cult following because they ARE so unreliable and finicky.
For the money a GTI is an amazing car, but when you buy one you always know that in 20k the check engine light will be on and stuff will start going wrong. My mk4 jetta had the check engine light on for then entire time I owned it.
VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) does consist if ALOT of companies that VW owns. VW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bugatti, etc.
